  • …this is a subtly ambitious work that doesn’t shy away from contentious subjects, such as same-sex marriage and climate change, and it squarely confronts the most controversial topic of the day—the presidency of Donald Trump. An upbeat and thoughtful blend of romance and politics.

  • Ford likewise makes a valiant play at distinguishing traditional conservative ideals from the juggernaut of the Trump Party. Through Megan’s blend of social compassion and fiscal sensibility, Ford paints a Republican agenda that, by modern standards, is barely discernible from its counterparts on the left – and easily bridged.

  • The first thing that surprised me about this book was how fat it was. I don’t really expect that from a romance. Turns out partly it’s thick with rich backstory for the main characters. This helps build interesting, complex characters who are real and human. Minor characters are also presented as full human beings.

  • The scariest part of reading this story was all the different relationships and dynamics reflected who suffered division for loved ones simply because of who they voted for. That is a very true thing that is happening here as we speak. […] Divide was a wonderful choice word for the title.
